STEM Learning That Goes Beyond the Classroom
For many learners in Marsabit County, access to practical STEM learning opportunities remains limited. Yet the curiosity, creativity and potential of young people across the county are enormous.
At STEMrise Kenya, we believe that STEM education should be more than textbooks and examinations. Learners should have opportunities to experiment, build, code, solve problems and create solutions to challenges in their own communities.
Our work focuses on bringing accessible and practical STEM experiences closer to learners, particularly those in communities where resources and opportunities are limited.
Through initiatives such as coding, robotics, practical science, innovation and STEM mentorship, STEMrise Kenya is working to create spaces where young people can explore what is possible with science and technology.
Why Practical STEM Matters

Learning by doing allows learners to connect classroom concepts with real-world problems.
A learner who builds a simple robot is not only learning about technology. They are also developing skills in problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, logical thinking and persistence.
Similarly, practical science activities can help learners understand that science is not simply something they read about in a textbookβit is something they can investigate and use to understand and improve the world around them.
For learners in Marsabit, these experiences can open doors to new possibilities.

STEMrise Kenya is currently focused on supporting STEM learning within Marsabit County.
We are working towards expanding opportunities in:
